Our Library

Our school library is a bright and inspiring place where the children enjoy browsing, reading and borrowing from a wide collection of books. The library is a bright and cosy space where we take our shoes off, pad around and just enjoy books. The walls are hand painted with images of the BFG, Winnie the Pooh and other loved characters from children’s literature.

Children throughout our school enjoy our extensive collection of picture books and stories whilst a growing range of chapter-book fiction awaits our independent readers. In our fiction sections we hold both classic stories that never age and plenty of the latest and best literature written for children. We are always open to requests for titles that we should stock.

Beyond stories we have lots of books to help our children to discover more about the world we live in. We offer books that aim to excite and engage our children.

From reception upwards, all children at Joseph Hood visit the library on a two-week cycle with their class which gives them a chance to borrow a book to take home.

We look forward to welcoming you in the library!
