Clubs in our Local Area

We are proud to be part of a friendly and active community. Our pupils and their siblings attend many local groups and clubs and a number of our parents volunteer with them too. We’ve listed some below. Please contact the organisation directly for details.

 

Under 5s

 

The Avenue Children’s Centre
Located just next door to our school, The Avenue runs a number of playgroups for babies and toddlers.

 

A music and movement programme for 1-4 year olds based in Dundonald Church. It runs every Tuesday and Friday from 10-11am during school term (bookings essential). Younger siblings are welcome.

 

Scouts, Guides and Cadets
 
2nd Merton Park Brownies
For girls age 7 – 10 years old. They meet in the Methodist Church off Buckleigh Avenue and currently have a waiting list.
 
They meet at St Saviour’s Church in Raynes Park. They have four sections: Beavers aged 6-8, Cubs aged 8-10, Scouts aged 10-14 and Explorers aged 14-17. Both boys and girls are welcome to join.
 
They meet at Merton Park Baptist Church at the top of Botsford Road every Tuesday during term time for girls aged 4.5 upwards to 18.

 

Swimming and Diving

Located on Martin Way. They also have classes there for older children run by Water Nippers.
 
Claesses held at Wimbledon College and Boundary Business Court in Mitcham.
 
Merton School of Diving
MSDT is an ASA Affiliated diving club based at Morden Park Pools.
 
Next to Morden Hall Park. Great value classes for all stages.
 
Baby & Toddler Swimming Lessons in South London & Surrey.

 

Dance and Drama
 
A drama and performing arts club with classes for all ages. Classes are held at Merton Park Primary and St Mary's Hall in Merton Park.
 
Drama, dance and singing classes for 4 year olds upwards. Classes are held at David Lloyd (at the bowling alley side).
 
Summer workshops and after school drama classes for a variety of ages.
 
A Royal Academy of Dance ballet school and is run by Mrs Meadwell.
 
Tap, ballet, freestyle and street dance classes at Emmanuel church hall on Dudley Drive, Morden.
Street dance classes at the Lantern Arts Centre in Raynes Park.
 
Jennifer Hay School of Ballet
Tap, ballet and modern dance classes in various locations around the area.
 
They have classes in Ballet, Modern and Tap to all levels and abilities. For children aged 2 ½ years upwards.
  
A Zumba class on Saturday mornings for a parent and child (7-12yrs old) to take part in together

 

Football

 

Wimbledon Little League football club plays on Joseph Hood Recreation Grounds just round the corner from school on Saturday mornings, September - March. It’s for boys and girls from Year 2 to Year 7.
 
Morden Little League
Saturday morning football at king George's playing fields, Morden (Tudor drive).
 
Held in Wimbledon Park every Saturday morning 10- 11.30. Football for all ages. Turn up and play, cost £6 per session.

 

Gymnastics and Fitness
 
TJs Gymnastics, South Wimbledon
Various classes from babies onwards but you have to be in the younger groups to progress, so sign up at pre-school / nursery age.

Flying Fantastic
Aerial skills for age 8+. They also do adult classes.
