We are extremely proud of the achievements of our children across the school, and the positive Key Stage Two SATs results achieved by our previous Year 6 pupils against the National Standards (2022-2023).
In particular, we would like to celebrate the achievements of our children in the higher standard and Greater Depth of the 2023 SATs assessments where we were above National Standards.
As well as this, we are also very pleased with the GLD results achieved at the end of Reception (72.9%) alongside our pupil achievements at the end of Key Stage One - noting again those significant achievements against the National Standard as well as the higher standard part of the assessments. Well done to all our pupils!

We are extremely proud of the achievements of our children across the curriculum. We would particularly like to draw your attention to and celebrate the KS2 SATs results achieved by our Year 6 pupils.
These tests are measured by the government in two ways: Attainment and Progress.
Progress scores measure the progress that children have made between the end of Year 2 and the end of Year 6. These scores typically range between 3 and -3, with anything above 0 meaning that the children made higher than average progress. As you can see from the table below, our overall progress scores were 4.5 for Maths, 2.2 for Reading and -0.5 for Writing. These results are also highlighted on the government’s DFE (Department for Education) website, which you can link to here. https://www.compare-school-performance.service.gov.uk/school/102634/joseph-hood-primary-school.
Our children also did particularly well in ‘Achieving Higher Standard’ in Attainment; scoring significantly above the national average in this for Maths and above national average in writing.

These results are not only incredibly impressive but put us in the top 5% in the country for Progress.
