Today we visited St James' Church for our annual Christingle Service. All children had made Christingles and learnt all about the symbolic meaning of this tradition. Some children took part in telling the nativity story and we all sang carols. At the end of the service, our Key Stage Two children lit their candles in their Christingles and the bells rang out in the church. We then made our way back to school-managing not to eat our Christingles of course! All children left at the end of the day with their Christingles to enjoy at home. Thanks to Father Jim and all at St James for allowing us to visit.
