Parents views about our New Remote Online Learning

We are now into week two of Remote Online Learning and all the Joseph Hood staff are working extremely hard to give lessons to both the children we have in school and the ones at home.  We have had some wonderful comments from parents & carers about the online learning. Thank you very for those parents and carers who have emailed in.  It is lovely to hear as the staff are working very hard to make everything run as smoothly as possible in these difficult times.

Here are some of the parent comments…..

'Hey all staff,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for setting up an amazing remote learning for the children. I have spoken to a lot of parents in different areas who have said it’s literally just work given to them with no support. I am super thankful that you as a school have come up with a timetable for learning and there are actual live lessons going on I really do appreciate this, as I’m sure the other parents do too. keep up the great work!'

'I just wanted to email the school and say thank you ever so much for all you are doing for the home schooling. ***** is working ever so well with how you have set it out. I’m ever so pleased with the amount of live contact she has with the teacher and pupils. It really is amazing to hear her be able to talk to teachers and pupils. Amazing Job Joseph Hood, fantastic!'

'Dear Mrs Saville and Mrs Wright,

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say a huge thank you for all the effort that the staff is making to keeping our kids connected and learning and active.

A massive thank you to Miss Ranger for showing amazing patience with our children this week, I’m sure she is having nightmares of saying “mute please” and for Mrs Sarah helping out.

Also Mrs Child’s and Miss Hargrave are doing an excellent job for the little ones.

I struggle to see any of us keeping this up until the end of March, but know we will be praying as a family for all of you for wisdom, safety, health, stamina and perseverance.'

'To all the staff,

I just wanted to write and say thank you for all you’re doing to make the online learning possible. We’re so thankful for the online lessons, and are conscious that this must be such a lot of work for those teaching and everyone supporting with the tech. ****** is engaged with her learning and enjoying being able to see her teacher and classmates. What you’re doing is amazing. Thank you so much.'

'Dear Mrs Saville and all the team.

I would like to say a huge heart felt thank you to all of you for working so hard in preparing the school during this time and how well you're all doing teaching in school and home via the live lessons. ******* feels this is really working and is confident she will be ok if she has to do some remote learning.

You have organised everything extremely well and made important information clear putting parents at ease. The home/school communication has been excellent!

This is such a stressful time for every one of us and we are all doing what we can. If you didn't have ******* in school, I wouldn't be able to do my job.

(as much as I'd like to be home keeping my family safe.) My family and I really appreciate all the hard work, care and support you all show each and every day, and with smiles on your faces.'

'Dear All,

I write to say a huge thank you for your great work in team teaching year 5.

I cannot tell you how great it is to see ******* sat in front of the PC at 9am seeing her classmates and hearing your voices. She had school on speaker for the first bit yesterday and I was working in the room and I tapped into your energy and inspiration too! You have really got this - it’s absolutely terrific what you are doing, combining teaching the children in school and at home. The structure is good, the sessions are broken up with your teaching then work for the children to do, nice long lunch break is really helpful and PE videos as well. Well done, well done, well done! I simply wanted to tell you that your amazing work in these really difficult circumstances is so appreciated.

Sending my best wishes and appreciation to you for putting this tremendous new school on the road so well.'

'Dear Joseph Hood School,

I just wanted to say a big thank you for putting on excellent online lessons and providing us with a chrome book to assist home learning. You are doing a brilliant job, I even did a PE lesson this morning before breakfast with ****. He is learning all sorts of life skills such as working on his own initiative, working under pressure, managing his own time and being responsible for logging onto lessons on time on top of the normal curriculum.
I worried he would really struggle this term but it’s much more successful than anticipated so far. A big thank you.'

'Dear Mrs Saville, and all of the team at JoHo,

I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for the incredible job that you are all doing.  The whole process has been so straight forward, and seems from our end like you have been doing it for years.  The lessons both of my kids are receiving have been engaging, interesting and leaving them wanting more, and for that we cannot thank you enough.

I know that you are juggling so many balls, wearing a million hats and no doubt just surviving from day to day, but all of that hard work is making it possible for us to be able to manage at home, and at the same time feel that our kids are getting a fantastic all round education.

Well done for getting to the end of week 2.  We are feeling ready for the weekend, and are going to really welcome the Wellbeing Wednesday next week.  I am currently working for ***- and I have to say that the level of comms and output that you are putting out, is on a par with their comms- and they no doubt have a massive team doing that, so credit to you.

Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you all online next week!'
