Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Saturday 13th May our PTFA organised our first ever Fun Run at the local Joseph Hood Recreation Grounds. It was a roaring success with over 200 runners taking part from our school and also from the local community! There was a great atmosphere at the start line, fun tunes, a proper warm up led by one of our parent dads and then a countdown to the start. There were some impressive performances! It was really great to see so many people getting involved, and everyone talking about doing it again next year - but bigger and better!
Reception and Nursery classes welcomed some very special visitors to their playground on Wednesday 24th May!
The Mexicana was THE place to be, at Joseph Hood on Friday lunchtime (19th May)
It was a busy lunchtime with the majority of the staff booking a table. Firstly, we were greeted with sombreros to wear during our lunch-all handmade. The restaurant played joyous Mexican background music while attentive staff (Year 4s) catered for our every need! We enjoyed a 3-course lunch consisting of cheesy nachos with a selection of 4 dips. Next was the main course of a rice bowl or chicken burrito. All cooked to perfection! To make sure everyone went back to work happy and full we finished off with a medley of fruit, including bananas, blueberries, strawberries and melon. Devine!
A massive well done to the Year 4s who had spent a lot of their time this week planning and creating their pop-up restaurant. Also a big thank you to Mrs Bartlett, Miss Mills and Miss Ferrier for all your hard work!
Yesterday the Year 4s visited the beach!
The Young Writers’ Competition 2023
A huge well done to all of those children whose entries have now been submitted to the organisers at the Young Writers’ Competition! I really enjoyed reading the wide range of narratives and poems this year! We had some amazing interpretations of the theme ‘Home’.

Our Year 4 children are having a fantastic time at Stubbington Study Centre this week, 12th-19th May. So far, they have been badger watching, worked through a blind-folded obstacle course and ventured through the woods to learn why trees are so important for our environment.
What a day we had celebrating HRH King Charles III Coronation, albeit a day early. We began the day with a sharing assembly where each year group sang a song from their designated decade. Everyone was clapping to the music and having a really fantastic time! After some fun activities in class we began to get everything ready for our picnic - but it poured with rain and we had to bring everything inside again, but that didn't stop us having our tasty picnic with all our friends. Soon after, it was dry enough for us to go out and play, before more fun activities in class. We think King Charles would have loved our party, if he wasn't so busy sorting out his own party celebrations!
